Seven Pounds

Why you should see it: There's still some mystery surrounding the plot, which, rumor has it, has Smith playing Ben, an IRS agent who's suicidal after he's involved in an accident that kills seven people. To make amends, he vows to help seven strangers, but his plans get complicated when he falls in love with a woman with a heart condition (Dawson).
Box office bottom line: Smith is one of the most bankable movie stars in the world, and—in a The Pursuit of Happyness kind of way—this emotional drama should do nothing to put a dent in that reputation.
