There are still a few more weeks until the big-screen release of Sex and the City 2 (May 27, to be exact), but we're starting the countdown to "Carrie Sees Aidan!" now. In the new, extended trailer for the follow-up to the 2008 box-office sensation, Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) and her girls head to Abu Dhabi for a vacation -- where our favorite fashionista runs into lost love (and fan favorite) Aidan (John Corbett).
When the pair encounter one another in an exotic land, there are hugs, longing looks, and Carrie calling her husband, John, aka Mr. Big (Chris Noth), to tell him, "Something happened." While Charlotte (Kristin Davis) warns her dear friend, "You're playing with fire," we personally can't wait to see if Aidan and Carrie turn up the heat! And we have these burning questions: Is he still married? What about his son Tate? Why isn't it May 27th yet??
Of course, there's plenty more going on in the jam-packed trailer than Abu Dhabi and Aidan's return (which Corbett actually revealed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show last month.) The two-and-a-half-minute clip, which kicks off with Alicia Keys and Jay-Z's New York City anthem "Empire State of Mind," also shows Charlotte struggling with motherhood, Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) finally feeling like she's "made it," and Samantha (Kim Cattrall) participating in her favorite, er, extracurricular activity.
We also get a glimpse that Carrie's gay best friend Stanford (Willie Garson) is getting married (is it to Mario Cantone's Anthony, with whom he shared a kiss in the first Sex and the City movie?), and the movie's chock-full of celebrity cameos, including Penelope Cruz, Liza Minnelli, and Miley Cyrus!
And how can you forget the jaw-dropping fashions to go with the famous faces and lavish landscapes, like Samantha's spiky-shouldered red dress or Carrie's very Carrie-esque Dior shirt? When Samantha cries in the trailer, "I can hear the decadence calling," she isn't kidding!
