Sex During Pregnancy: Sex Positions - Pregnancy & Baby Plus

Don't let the most voluptuous time of your life go to waste. Grab your partner and start exploring your new body. Just remember that as your belly grows, lovemaking positions you both enjoyed may not be comfortable anymore. But you can use this time as an opportunity to spice up your sex life by experimenting with some new and different positions.

You on top: Lower yourself onto your partner, either facing him or turned to face his feet. This position can be comfortable throughout pregnancy. It puts no pressure on your growing belly and allows you to control the penetration and thrusting.

Woman on back: This is not your typical missionary position and may be more comfortable for you. Lie on your back with your knees drawn back and open and your feet resting on your partner's chest. Or try it with your legs straight up and resting against your partner. Then he kneels between your legs to enter you, so there is no weight on your belly. It may help to put a pillow under your bottom.

Side by side: You and your partner lie side by side, facing each other, with your legs draped over your partner's body. This position is good for late pregnancy, but it doesn't allow for much movement, so make a change if it's difficult for your partner to achieve orgasm.

Spooning: A good choice when you feel like cuddling. You lie on your side, in a curled position. Your partner faces you and enters you from behind. Or you can lie on your back with your legs propped over your partner's hips, while he lies on his side under your legs to enter you. Penetration is shallow, so this can be comfortable during late pregnancy. These positions also give your partner full access to caress your burgeoning breasts and belly.

Rear entry: You can be on all fours on the bed, staying steady, or leaning down onto pillows with your partner kneeling and entering you from behind. Or, try bending over the bed (supported as needed by pillows) with your partner standing and entering from behind. This allows for deep thrusting, so be sure to tell your partner what is comfortable for you.

Sitting: Straddle your partner while he is sitting on a sturdy, comfortable chair or on the edge of the bed. You can also sit in an armchair, upright or leaning back slightly, with your legs around your partner, who is kneeling in front of you.
