One of my favorite "Mom Moments" happened when I was very little. In our house, we always had music playing in every room in the house. I remember that my mom was cleaning the floor and I was playing with my dolls.
All of a sudden I heard a song, that now I think was "Love Makes the World go Round". For some reason, that song just made me want to dance. I asked my mom, "Please, mom, you can clean later -- let's dance!" She dropped the broom and we waltzed around for what seemed like hours -- until the song ended. I felt like a fairy princess, floating on air like Cinderella. That dance, made me love to dance and it is now something I share with my children. Both my son and daughter dance with me and we too put aside our chores to sometimes simply dance.
At my parents' recent 50th wedding anniversary, I was able to dance again with my Mom, although now she's in failing health. It brought me back to that day when chores were put aside and my mom and I lost ourselves in the music. It is a moment in time that I'll never forget.
