Word to the wise: If you invite Shaun White to your wedding, keep him away from the alcohol.
The Olympic snowboarder was in Nashville over the weekend to celebrate musician Patrick Carney's wedding, and apparently things got rowdy after the ceremony. White was later sent to the hospital and was arrested for public intoxication and vandalism after one crazy night.
People reports that the 26-year-old was staying at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel where he went on a "hotel room rampage" and allegedly pulled a fire alarm illegally. Police were called while the hotel's guests were forced to evacuate, and White tried to flee the scene. He reportedly kicked the person who called the police on him, who then pursued him -- but during the chase White fell back and hit his head against a fence.
The two-time Olympic gold medalist was taken to the hospital for a check up where he refused to sign misdemeanor citations. It was only then that police issued arrest warrants for vandalism and public intoxication. Fortunately, the citizen who was involved in the incident didn't press charges. White was let out of the hospital Monday and is free on his own recognizance.
Unsurprisingly, officers who reported to the scene at around 2 a.m. Sunday say "White appeared to be extremely intoxicated and smelled strongly of alcohol."
Apparently White was on his best behavior during the actual wedding. Guests say he was "friendly and nice to everyone," so we'd love to know what set him off later in the night.
White has been romantically linked to Bar Refaeli recently, but we'll have to wait and see whether she sticks around after this embarrassing performance!
