Shawn Johnson's Stalker Found Guilty

The man who stalked the Olympic gymnast was ruled legally insane and will likely serve his time in a mental hospital

A man accused of stalking Dancing with the Stars winner and Olympic gold medalist Shawn Johnson has been found guilty.

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge found that Robert O'Ryan, 36, was legally insane at the time of his arrest last March and was guilty of felony stalking and burglary charges along with two misdemeanor concealed weapons violations.

Ryan was arrested when he jumped the fence at the CBS Studios in Los Angeles while Johnson was filming DWTS. Police later found two loaded guns in his car, as well as love letters to the gymnast.

"I didn't know him," Johnson, 18, testified in court. "He was a stranger to me. To see someone with that kind of obsession made me really scared."

Ryan, who waived his right to a jury trial and pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity, will most likely serve his sentence in a state mental hospital pending the results of a court-ordered evaluation.
