NSD: What was your big turning point—either during the show or before that made you realize you needed to lose the weight?
The moment I realized I had let myself... no, took myself to almost 500 pounds. The first weigh-in was the biggest, but also losing my mother, realizing that death was so close if I didn’t change my mind, [was a factor].
NSD: What is one thing you wish you had known before going on The Biggest Loser?
I really wish I would have realized all of the emotional things that were holding back my life.
NSD: If you could have done one thing differently during the show, what would it be?
Nothing. I believe in owning your journey and learning from any detours or speed bumps along the way.
NSD: What was the hardest thing to adapt to while being on the ranch?
Being away from family and friends.
NSD: What is one thing that keeps you motivated?
Knowing that I have a new life that is waiting for me.
NSD: What is your favorite workout?
I love spinning and yoga.
NSD: What's the best advice Bob or Jillian has given you?
That I am in control of me and that no matter what I have a choice to make my life the best I can.
NSD: What is your favorite meal or snack?
I love Ahi tuna, brown rice and some freshly steamed baby broccoli! Yum!
NSD: What did you do for fun while you were on the ranch?
I love swimming or taking hikes and walks. I learned that if I make active things fun I have a much better day.
