What do you get when you cross the Real Housewives of New Jersey, The View and Twitter? Answer: a lot of talk about a lot of drama! That's what happened when Sherri Shepherd went to a party in New Jersey this weekend, and found herself witnessing some made-for-Bravo drama firsthand.

"Why am I at a party in Jersey with Sal & one of the New Jersey Housewives gets into an altercation w someone! This is surreal & a #hotmess," tweeted the View cohost, who was out with husband Lamar "Sal" Sally.

Naturally, Shepherd's Twitter followers wanted the dirt. When one asked Shepherd if the fighting Housewife was pot-stirrer Teresa Giudice, Shepherd replied that Teresa was at the party, but she wasn't the one who got into the fight. Giudice then chimed in to say that she hadn't been in New Jersey at all, but was in New York City that night to cheer on daughter Gia's cance crew.

"Apology to @Teresa_Giudice ... thought you were at the party," Shepherd tweeted in reply. "I swear you got a doppleganger! Just as well - the drama didn't involve you!"

Shepherd must not be keeping up with her Real Housewives viewing, because it turns out that the "doppleganger" was actually her sister-in-law/arch-rival Melissa Gorga. Awkward!

"I thought I saw @SherriEShepherd last night! Thougt I was going crazy to see her in Jersey!" tweeted Gorga. "Damn, wish I said Hi! Love her!"

The new Housewife also sent Shepherd a tweet to say that she wasn't responsible for the fight that went down at the party.

"No honey! Someone tried 2 pull a publicity stunt last night 2try & cause drama, I was upset they did that!" Gorga wrote.

Melissa explained the situation in more detail an email to the Huffington Post.

"Someone tried to cause a fake fight to get attention because they are trying to be on the new Housewives," said Gorga. "Someone pretended that they overheard me and (Kathy Wakile) talking about a girl in the bathroom that is trying to get on the next season. I knew it was B.S. because we didn't talk about anyone in the bathroom. So I called them out on it right away."

That girl wasn't Sherri Shepherd, was she? Because that would make this whole "feud" so much juicier.
