Should You Buy a Statement Umbrella?

Absolutely - and here are six adorable, reasonably priced reasons why!

I used to think of my umbrella (when I thought of it at all) as a thing, an item, a completely separate entity from anything related to my outfit. Not a fashion accessory, but a household, weather-related item that Mom always made sure I had -- but which if I left it on a subway, it'd be no big deal.

It wasn't until a former fashionista roommate of mine came home with a sleek, heavy duty, black-and-gray Calvin Klein parasol that I started seeing what a fun fashion accessory an umbrella could be. She brought it everywhere with her throughout multiple seasons, and it looked so cute against her urban-chic handbags, her black boots, her pale gray trench, or her springy black slingbacks. I suddenly wanted an umbrella I loved and that worked with my wardrobe; I knew if I purchased a stylish, “me” one I'd be careful not to lose it, and more importantly, I'd want to carry it. (Mom would be proud!)

I encourage you to make a splash this spring with a statement umbrella of your own -- and here are six unique versions to inspire you. Which one is the most like you?
