One common error: You see some blood and you're so sure that you’re getting your period. But if the bleeding is lighter or shorter than usual, it might not be a period at all. “You can have some bleeding around the time of implantation,” says Dr. Greenfield, about 10 to 14 days after fertilization. If the bleeding happens after sex, it could be because your cervix, which has more blood flow than usual, is more delicate once you’re pregnant. So if it doesn't seem like your normal flow, you still could be pregnant.
