'Silver Linings Playbook' (Nov. 21)

Short Story:
Every family is a little dysfunctional, right? That's certainly true for Pat Solatano (Bradley Cooper), a bipolar thirtysomething who returns to live with his parents after spending eight months in a psych ward. Pat's struggling to get back on his feet -- until he meets Tiffany (Jennifer Lawrence), a local girl dealing with her own life crises. Inevitably, sparks fly between the film's characters (in more ways than one), and we learn that everyone's just a little bit crazy.

What They're Saying:
"Family nuttiness, football madness, romantic obsession and certifiable mental illness coexist happily in Silver Linings Playbook -- a crazy beaut of a comedy that brims with generosity and manages to circumvent predictability at every turn." -- Entertainment Weekly

Good for Kids?
Not exactly. The film features some strong language, sexual content and nudity, and Common Sense Media says "the story [the film is] telling is really quite dark."
