It's true! Sources close to Simon Cowell confirm that the American Idol judge is engaged!
The lucky girl is Idol makeup artist Mezhgan Hussainy, 36, who is now reportedly sporting a huge diamond on her left hand, courtesy of 50-year-old Cowell.
Cowell's U.K. rep called the pair "very suited," adding that Hussainy "is someone who is independent and says what she thinks and feels, and he likes that. He's probably the happiest I have ever known him in the nine years I've been working with him."
"They have known each other for years," the rep added. "They've actually been going out together for the last year. She knows him; she's been around him. So, she knows the person he is, and he knows the person she is. That's why it works so well."
This will be the first marriage for Cowell and the second trip down the aisle for Hussainy.
