Apparently, we weren't just imagining all that potent sexual tension between Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul. Cowell admits that he did indeed consider hooking up with his X Factor co-judge during their days together on American Idol.
"I mean, the truth was, on the first two seasons, we couldn't travel on the same plane together. We really disliked each other that much," Cowell, 52, told Barbara Walters on her annual "10 Most Fascinating People" special (yes, Cowell made the list). The cause of all that negative energy? "Sexual tension... on her part," Simon says.
Despite being tempted by the notion of having sex with Abdul, 49, Cowell never went through with it because, he says, he was afraid of what would come afterward.
"I considered it, but then I thought, 'I don't think the after would be as good as the before.' I'd let her stay for a few hours, but then it would have to be goodnight," he jokes.
When asked by Walters if he though Abdul wanted a relationship with him, Cowell answered, "A million percent."
This isn't the only almost-fling Cowell has dished about in recent months. Back in September, he revealed that he and Denise Richards went on a date six years ago, Although Richards says she didn't know it was a date at the time.
Cowell, who is currently engaged to makeup artist Mezhgan Hussainy, had nothing but nice things to say about Richards. She agreed with his sentiments, calling the judge a "hot piece of ass" over Twitter. Sounds like she's not the only one who thinks so!
