A Simple Day at the Park

A wonderful memory I have of my mom involves a simple day at the park. I was probably 8 or 9 at the time. My mom and I were at the park without my baby sister (which didn't happen very often). I was learning about photography with a very old camera, taking pictures of the nature around me. My mom and I were enjoying the swings when she shared a bit of magic with me. She told me, "While you're swinging, lean back as far as you can go and put your head back as far as you can. It will feel like you are flying." The thought of leaning back in a swing scared me, but mom was right there, so I tried it. It was amazing - just like she had said - it felt like I was flying. I recently took my 1 year old daughter to the same park with my mother and retold the story and how wonderful that moment was for me.
