Pop star Bruno Mars was busted by cops on Sunday in Las Vegas on suspicion of cocaine possession.
According to TMZ.com, the "Billionaire" singer was caught in a bathroom stall at the Hard Rock Hotel, after an attendant informed security that he could "see a male in a striped red shirt with a baggy of white powder substance."
Cops moved in and say they asked Bruno (real name Peter Martinez) to "give over whatever narcotics he had." According to the report, Bruno then "pulled out a white powder substance, which was consistent with cocaine, from his left-front jeans pocket."
Mars was taken to Clark County Detention Center, where he was booked on narcotics possession. He was released the same day. A spokesperson for the Clark County District Attorney’s office says that they will probably decide whether or not to proceed with criminal charges by the end of this week. If charges are filed, Mars will most likely be due to appear in court Nov. 18.
