When it comes to extended warranties, most consumer experts agree they're not worth the cost. In addition to the standard warranty provided by the manufacturer, your credit card will often offer some additional protection. So the next time the cashier asks if you'd like to purchase the extended warranty, politely decline and pocket the money you save. Experts say you can save around $300 just by saying no to extended warranties -- especially if you’re buying electronics.
