Gouda and serrano ham give this macaroni and cheese an usual twist. Perfect for a quick dinner, it doesn't require any baking in the oven.

| 1/4 pound unsalted butter | 1/8 cup diced serrano ham | |
| 1/4 cup all-purpose flour | kosher salt to taste | |
| 1 quart heavy whipping cream | your favorite pasta | |
| 1 cup grated smoked gouda |
Melt butter in medium sauce pan. Add serrano ham.
Whisk in flour to make a roux. Add cream.
Whisk in cheese. Season with salt.
Boil 8 cups of salted water. Cook your favorite pasta until al dente.
