Gouda and serrano ham give this macaroni and cheese an usual twist. Perfect for a quick dinner, it doesn't require any baking in the oven.

|1/4 pound unsalted butter||1/8 cup diced serrano ham|
|1/4 cup all-purpose flour||kosher salt to taste|
|1 quart heavy whipping cream||your favorite pasta|
|1 cup grated smoked gouda|
Melt butter in medium sauce pan. Add serrano ham.
Whisk in flour to make a roux. Add cream.
Whisk in cheese. Season with salt.
Boil 8 cups of salted water. Cook your favorite pasta until al dente.
