A quick and healthy kid-friendly snack is easy to make using celery, hummus and pretzels. Just spread your favorite hummus in a slice of celery, take four mini pretzels and dip them into the hummus to create the wings. Then, use small pieces of sliced celery or green grapes for the butterfly’s eyes.
Ants on a Log Remix
Celery, peanut butter and raisin "ants on a log" are so yesterday. For a new, sweet (but still healthy!) twist on the classic kids' snack, swap dark chocolate chips for the raisins and add an animal cracker for a fun effect.
Fruity Palm Tree
Amp up a healthy snack by making it look like a tropical palm tree. Crumble animal crackers (or graham crackers) to create the effect of sand underneath the palm tree. Cut a banana in half lengthwise and place it on the plate and then slice smaller sections of the banana. Add sliced green grapes on top to create the palm tree leaves and you've got a fun, fruity snack that your kids will gobble up faster than you can say "aloha."
