Lorne Michaels: "I Know There Will Be Some" 'SNL' Cast Changes

Rumors say Kristen Wiig, Jason Sudeikis and Andy Samberg will leave the show -- but the creator says: "I'd like everyone to stay"

Attention all Saturday Night Live fans: The show's creator-producer Lorne Michaels is officially warning you that, yes, there will definitely be some changes to the cast lineup next season.

"I'm not really certain myself," he told reporters on Wednesday about rumors of cast shuffling. "I know there will be some. It's just the nature of our work that no one talks about it until the season is done. Needless to say, I'd like everyone to stay."

Sources have said that three of the comedy show's breakout players will be departing at the end of this season: Academy Award-nominated writer Kristen Wiig, Horrible Bosses star Jason Sudeikis and SNL Digital Shorts producer Andy Samberg.

"It will be a huge blow to the show," one insider told Us Weekly. "Without Andy's video shorts and Kristen saving every skit, they'll need help!"

But it's not all bad news. The open spots will mean that some featured players will be promoted and new comedians will join the cast.

"Every summer we go out and make the rounds of Chicago, L.A. and New York, and various other places they do this kind of work. And that always leads to new people on the show," he said. "We've always been about bringing new people in."
