The pop-culture juggernaut that is the cast of MTV's reality show, Jersey Shore, tried their trivia luck on Jay Leno's "Jaywalk All-Stars" game last night, and if they were hoping to show they're smarter than you might think, well, they failed miserably.
Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, and Paul "DJ Pauly D" Delvecchio stood at the quiz-show podiums and fielded basic history and current-events knowledge questions from Jay. Their inability to correctly answer such questions as "Where is the UN?" and "Who is 'Old Blue Eyes?'" was beyond hilarious.
When Jay asked what year the United States achieved independence, Pauly D responded: "1767. Jay nudged him along, asking: "What other dates in the 1700s stand out?" Pauly answered "1792...Columbus sailed the Ocean Blue."
Perhaps the most preposterous moment came when Snooki was asked to identify a photo of Muammar al-Qaddafi and confidently replied, "Lionel Richie." Another choice nugget from Snooki: she described Dick Cheney as the guy who "almost shot President Bush with a rifle" when he was "trying to catch a turkey or something."
Of the three Jersey Shore stars, Mike "The Situation" performed best. With a little help, he was able to identify "The Wizard of Menlo Park" as Thomas Edison, and he knew that there are nine Supreme Court judges.
Do you think the Jersey Shore cast is really as clueless as they seem, or are they faking it for the sake of fame? Chime in below!
