Last night, the remaining nine couples performed some pretty sick routines. But sadly, all good things must come to an end - at least for one couple.
Flo Rida started off the results show tonight. But results for those couples in the Bottom 3 came rather quickly.
First couple in the Bottom 3? Chelsea and Thayne - just like I predicted.
Then host Cat Deeley did something rather sneaky (and somewhat humorous). Before announcing who would join Chelsie and Thayne, couples Will and Jessica and Matt and Kourtni were asked to step forward. Of course one would be safe and the other would be forced to dance again. But, surprise! Both were safe!
But alas, the time came to announce the second couple in the Bottom 3. And that spot belonged to: Susie and Marquis.
So who would be the final couple in the Bottom 3?: Comfort and Chris.
Um, can I just pat myself on the back for guessing 2 out of 3 couples who'd be in the Bottom 3?
Anywho, the six contestants danced for their lives in order to avoid elimination by the judges.
Chelsea: Her solo routine was interesting. Yea, that's about it.
Thayne: His extensions, his chorgeography. AMAZING. For the 45 seconds or so that these contestants danced, I was completely moved.
Susie: She didn't impress me last night, nor did she impress me during her sole performance. Dancing like you would at a club is not impressive.
Marquis: I adore him, I adored his performance. A lot different than I expected from him. I don't want him to go home at all because I want to see a lot more from him. But he's partnered with Susie, so who knows? Ugh.
Comfort: This girl is amazing as a hip-hop dancer. It's just unfortunate she hasn't been able to pull off the other choreography she's been handed.
Chris: It was good. I couldn't do the choreography. But it wasn't thrilling.
As we awaited the results, the judges headed backstage to consult were one another and we were given another performance by Flo Rida. I don't dislike him, I don't like him - just give me my results already!
Nigel Lythgoe made a pretty touching comment referencing the NBA Finals that happened over the past two weeks. He explained how Lakers player Kobe Bryant, after the Lakers lost the championship, went over to every member of the Boston Celtics and congratulated them on their win. He then went on to say that depsite the loss, Kobe still left as a great basketball player, and despite being eliminated tonight, the dancers would leave great dancers.
Anywayyyyy..... Nigel eliminated Susie first. Amen. And now it was time for the guys, all three of whom dance in the contemporary style of dance. So which guy was sent home? Marquis. (NOOOOOO!!!) I was shocked, as was the audience.
Bad call, Nigel. Bad call.
And that was the results show. Until next time. Happy dancing, folks!
