Sofia Vergara isn't looking to start a modern family any time soon. According to new reports, she and boyfriend Nick Loeb have split.
The New York Post says that the couple broke up over the weekend, and the 39-year-old Modern Family star's dateless appearance at Monday's Met Ball hasn't done anything to assuage the rumors.
"Sofia was confiding in friends at the ball that she and Nick have split," a source tells the Post. "They have been fighting a lot recently and have been on the brink of splitting many times. It is not yet clear if they are over for good, but they are done as a couple for now."
Vergara and Loeb had dated ever since meeting at a Golden Globes party in January 2010. Shortly after they first got together, Loeb -- who is the son of John Loeb Jr., the ambassador to Denmark under President Reagan -- was critically injured in a car accident. Nick made a full recovery and even considered a Senate run in 2012.
Vergara already has a 19-year-old son Manolo from her marriage to her childhood sweetheart (they wed when she was only 18!) -- and the Colombian beauty doesn't seem in any rush to settle down again.
"The most important thing was that he was very handsome," she told People in March about her initial attraction to Loeb. "But he was also very funny, talking s*** to me like a normal person."
Vergara is riding high thanks to her continued success on Modern Family and a well-received hosting gig on Saturday Night Live. Some of the Post's sources say that was a part of the reason she and Loeb split, but Vergara has said she's reveling in her sex symbol status.
"I love it. Of course, it's great at my age. It's fantastic," Vergara told Fox News in July. "I think that everything that is positive and good helps out with your career. Why not embrace it and take advantage?"
So far, Vergara hasn't confirmed or denied the split.
