Sofia Vergara on Turning 40: I'm Considering Freezing My Eggs

"I don't really care," says the Colombian beauty about hitting 40, but she wants to be prepared in case she chooses to have more kids

Sofia Vergara has eggs on the brain -- and not because it's almost Easter. In the new issue of InStyle, the Modern Family star admits that her impending 40th birthday has made her think about preserving her assets.

"I guess I am going to think about freezing my eggs," says Vergara, who gave birth to her one child, son Manolo, when she was 20.

The Colombian actress, who has been dating businessman Nick Loeb since 2010, says that the big 4-0 doesn't freak her out as much as it used to ("I remember thinking when my mom was 40 that she was done," she recalls). It probably helps that Vergara has a body most younger women would kill for -- though she doesn't take it for granted.

"I am on these lists for 'best ass' or 'most beautiful' with women like Mila Kunis, who’s, like, 20 years old," she marvels. "I have a son that age!"

Good genes are clearly part of Vergara's success; she was "discovered" by a photographer on the beach, and had her star-making moment when she wore a bikini in a South American Pepsi commercial at age 18. And that's okay with her, because the two-time Emmy nominee knows that she has more to bring to the table.

"Part of my career has always been because of the way I look," she acknowledges. "I’m not ashamed. It has opened doors. But I also know that if I didn’t have something else, I’d be long gone."
