'Sons of Anarchy' Star Dead, Suspect in Bizarre Hollywood Murder

Believed to be under the influence of drugs, Johnny Lewis was found dead in L.A., along with an 81-year-old woman he was renting a room from

Johnny Lewis, the actor best known for playing Half-Sack in Sons of Anarchy and for dating Katy Perry back in 2006, was found dead in Los Angeles Wednesday after what appeared to be a homicide. This strange and sad incident is reported to be a result of drugs, as cops believe that the 28-year-old was on either PCP or crystal meth at the time of his death.

TMZ broke the news, saying Lewis was found dead in the driveway of the house in Los Feliz, Calif., where he was renting a room. The 81-year-old woman who owned the house was also found dead, and police believe that Lewis had beaten her to death.

Multiple witnesses say neighbors heard the woman screaming and then saw a young man -- assumedly Lewis -- come outside her home and attack two other people with a 2x4. TMZ says Lewis fought them for three to four minutes, attacking them with his bare hands after using the wood. Officials say Lewis was "phenomenally strong" and acted with "super-human strength."

"It appears that some type of altercation occurred inside the house, resulting in the death of the woman, then this individual ran outside and had an altercation with a couple of neighbors," LAPD Commander Andrew Smith told reporters according to CNN.

For some reason, Lewis tried to break into the house of one of the men he was attacking, and it took three people to hold him back. Reports then say he climbed onto the roof of the woman's home and fell to his death. It's unclear at this time whether the fall was an accident or a suicide.

Lewis is the sole suspect in this woman's murder. He had reportedly lived at that home before, moved away and then returned to live there again. Neighbors who knew Lewis described him as a "nice guy." Autopsies will be conducted on both bodies today.
