Is SPF 15 Enough Sunscreen? - Wrinkle FAQs - Dr. Perricone

I am a sun-worshipper, but I always wear an SPF 15 -- should I use more?
You are on the right track, however, sunscreen is not a ticket to sunbathe. There are still processes that can produce free-radicals, these in turn cause inflammation and aging; you could be undoing all the hard work you have put forth on your skin. Time in the sun should be minimal and sunscreen should always be applied and if possible, protective clothing needs to be worn. Since you are spending time in the sun, be sure you are rehydrating yourself by constantly drinking water. Also, if you get a sunburn, reach for a Vitamin C Ester product, as its anti-inflammatory properties can help soothe the damaged skin.
