Stuck with not-quite-worn-out sneakers your older kids outgrew way too fast? “Get some fabric paint at a craft store and then splatter-paint the old sneakers to make them look new and funky,” suggests Leah Ingram, mom of two, media expert and author of the Suddenly Frugal blog. “Have you seen some of the newer Converse Chuck Taylors that are in stores these days? They have splatter paint on them, too. They also cost close to $40!” she adds.
