Check with your school to learn their position regarding head lice. Many schools and daycares regularly screen for it at the beginning of the year as well as after vacations and holiday breaks and will promptly send kids home if a case is discovered. You should suspend play dates and sleepovers for a few days and let those who’ve recently been to your house know about it so that they can be on the lookout for head lice in their family.
