In an effort to make Starbucks more than just a coffee (and public restroom) destination, the company has been quietly rolling out a new concept called Starbucks Evenings designed to turn the chain into more of a night spot.
According to the Huffington Post, 17 Starbucks locations across the country are now offering beer, wine and a menu of small bites including a brie and blue cheese plate (pictured above), bacon-wrapped dates, crudités and smoky chipotle hummus, flatbreads and chocolate fondue.
The menu is available after 4 p.m., designed to attract a happy hour or after-work crowd. According to the company, “After 4 p.m., you’ll experience a more mellow, less hurried atmosphere perfect for winding down and having casual conversations.” Fancy!
If you’re expecting a wine list similar to what you’d find on an airplane, you might be pleasantly surprised. Wines vary by location, but the Los Angeles menu includes a choice of three reds and whites, plus prosecco and a sparkling rosé.
The regular Starbucks food and beverage menu will still be available at night, so you can still get a Frappuccino with those bacon-wrapped dates if you’re so inclined. Although if you’re on a date, that might not be a good idea.
