The late-night talk shows tend to be a favorite topic of water cooler conversation, but they air way past most people's bed time. If you're among those who prefer beauty sleep over witty banter, not to worry: we've got the important talking points from last night's episode of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
OK. Even if you don't watch Gossip Girl, you've probably heard of the show's bad boy, "Chuck Bass." He's less commonly known as the actor Ed Westwick. Another little-known fact about Westwick is that he's actually an Englishman who happens to have the American accent down pat. He may sound like a native, but Ed is a relatively new import to the States -- and even newer to the calloused attitude of a New Yorker. Proving this point was a story he shared with Jimmy. When he was approached on the street by a person begging for money, not only did Ed dig out a 20-dollar bill, but he took the poor guy to a deli and offered to buy whatever he wanted. The two hit it off so well that the star invited him to join him for the birthday of a friend inside a nearby restaurant. They proceeded to share a few drinks on Westwick's dime before the "street person" announced he had to get home. So much for his homelessness charade. An annoyed Westwick described the experience as someone "exploiting the generosity of a fair English soul."
The Gossip Girl star also gave Jimmy an "exclusive" on what will happen on the show's next season. Turns out art will be imitating real life for Westwick and his co-star, Chace Crawford. The guys had, until recently, been sharing a New York apartment. And now -- drumroll, please -- their Gossip Girl characters will be roommates.
Check out a clip of Westwick and Fallon trying to out-Bass each other in a game called "Bass Masters"
Anyway, if you haven't yet heard Westwick's true, British accent, check out last night's episode of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, which is now available on Hulu.
