That’s why some families are opting for "staycations," relaxing at home with backyard fun and venturing out on day trips. Close-to-home vacations give families a chance to be tourists in their own backyards. Local visitors’ bureaus are catering to this trend by designing freebies and value-laden family options to their packages. Ed McMasters, Marketing Manager for Cincinnati's regional tourism network says more and more local families are taking advantage of package and combo deals.
