Cover a designated area (the floor or a countertop) with plenty of newspaper and give the kids a bowl and the ingredients. Help them measure out the salt, water, and flour. Combine in the bowl, mixing them thoroughly together with a spoon. If it’s too watery, add some flour and salt, and if its too firm, add some water. The dough is ready when it has a non-sticky, firmer-than-mushy consistency.
