How to do it: Start out in a basic full-plank or pushup position: Straight body, extended arms, with feet together and your butt in alignment with your back. Shoulders should be above the wrists, with core engaged and head looking down. Do one standard pushup, bringing your chest about fist height from the ground before coming back up. As you push up, go from a full plank position to a side plank position. Keep your hips up while looking up towards your hand. Once you're balanced in side plank, roll back to full plank, do another pushup and extend back up to the other side.
Modifications: To make it easier, elevate your upper body by placing your hands on a bench, chair or other stable surface. To make it more challenging, lift your left leg while on pushup to left side plank and lift your right leg while on pushup to right side plank.
