Between playing morally conflicted Michael Scott on The Office and Gru, a super-villain who wants to steal the moon in his new animated movie Despicable Me (in theaters July 9), Steve Carell has had some practice being despicable. And now the actor admits that he's also despicable in his off-camera life -- well, sort of. "I steal French fries from my wife's plate and I will cop to it. I will admit it. And I'm not ashamed," he tells iVillage. "But I've done it and I will continue to do it. And I will dip into her ketchup when I eat those fries."
The 47-year-old actor has had years of practice with his food theft: He and wife Nancy have been married for 15 years and are parents to daughter Elisabeth, 9, and son Johnny, 6. So, what's the secret to the success of their marriage? "Just remembering little things," he explains. "My wife will make coffee for me in the morning if I have to get up early. She'll get the pot ready the night before so I can just come down and turn it on. And when I drink my coffee I am reminded that my wife was thinking about me the night before."
