Although my father and brother aren't "sportaholics" they'll certainly relax in front of the television to watch a good game (any game!)on Sundays. This was true when I was a child, and my mother declared Sundays, after Mass, as "Jeanne and Julie" days. We filled a jar with ideas of things to do, and chose one each Sunday morning. My ideas were action-oriented, taking us on bike rides and to the park. My mother's ideas generated memories that linger warmly in my 37-year-old mind. My first "theatre-in-the-round" experience (Man of La Mancha with Richard Kiley... mesmerizing to an 8-year old), walks through the park to collect acorns to strand for our Christmas tree, creating crafts together on the kitchen table (of course, she's kept these gaudy treasures). My new daughter is so blessed to join a family where women create memories that last a lifetime!
