Never envy the child of a famous celebrity, especially if that child is Suri Cruise. The daughter of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise is one of the most famous people on the planet, and she's only 6 years old. Her now-divorced parents have been trying to give their daughter as normal a life as possible, and apparently have been forced to use body doubles to make sure Suri doesn't get harassed.
Yes, there is a Suri Cruise body double out there, and you know how the world found out? Because a stream of paparazzi followed her and her mother on Feb. 22 after Holmes picked Suri up from Manhattan's Convent of the Sacred Heart and a doppleganger was used so Holmes and Suri could get a sandwich.
That's right: They can't even get a sandwich without being hounded by photographers. The New York Daily News has pictures of a little girl dressed in the same outfit as Suri being led around as though she was the famous child star. While she was used as a decoy, the real Suri was brought into the restaurant that she and Holmes wanted to visit. How sad is that?
While some have complained about how security-crazy Cruise and Holmes are about their daughter, in this case it seems warranted. At 6, a girl should be able to eat a sandwich if she wants to eat a sandwich, and not have to worry about a gaggle of paparazzi hounding her every step. If a body double is what's needed to give Suri some semblance of privacy, then so be it -- but we hope that the second little girl, whomever she is, is making a boatload of money out of this gig.
