Survivor Fiji Talk with Anthony Robinson

So the dude got picked on a lot for being on the wimpy side ( I even went at him several times in my recaps). But alas, it's time to let up on Anthony. Besides, everyone's weak in some area. And born and raised in Compton, CA where he says he witnessed drive-bys and brains on the ground, he was still tough enough to come out of that and go on to graduate from Yale. I'd say that's got to count for something. So come meet Anthony, see what he has to say about himself, Rocky, and the game in general.

Shireese: They really seemed to give you a hard time, did you enjoy yourself at all while you were out there?

Anthony: They didn't show how much I actually did enjoy myself. It was the best time and the worst time.

Shireese: They really seemed to give you a hard time, did you enjoy yourself at all while you were out there?

Anthony: They didn’t show how much I actually did enjoy myself. It was the best time and the worst time.

Shireese: What did you think when Jeff said, “Drop your buffs?”

Anthony: We were like, “Wow, we’re merging.” (But when he found out the they were mixing teams he thought…) Ah, shoot. I finally ended up on Ravu’s team. I thought, “We have to win every challenge or else I’m going.”

Shireese: Watching the show, how did you feel when you were being called Rocky’s bitch , seeing yourself cry, and just seeing your portrayal in general? Were you embarrassed at all?

Anthony: No not at all. The whole thing with me crying—people were making a bigger deal out of that than it really was. I cry when I get mad. I’m one of those guys. But can you blame me?

Shireese: When they picked on you why not fight more?

Anthony: I wasn’t playing that game. I have a long fuse—it takes a while for me to get mad.

Shireese: Do you think you’re a wimp?

Anthony: No, of course not. I’ve been through some things that Rocky would probably crap his pants.

Shireese: During the show, you often blamed the way you were treated on being, as you called yourself, a nerd. Yet it seemed to me like you lacked a bit of self-respect. Would you agree with that or do you think that’s totally off the wall?

Anthony: It’s like anybody, I’ve gone through my life having low self-esteem. But yeah, I have self-respect. I went on Survivor, c’mon.

Shireese: Since they didn’t want to keep either of you around, why do you think they kept Rocky over you?

Anthony: I think they went for the muscle. They saw me as weaker. They outplayed me. They outlasted me. They didn’t out wit me, because I saw it coming. But I’m still a better person than they think I am.

Shireese: How do you feel about them now?

Anthony: They’re nice guys. I don’t have any animosity toward any of them. I’ll go buy Rocky a beer afterward.

Shireese: Who are you rooting for?

Anthony: I’m a big fan of the original Ravu.

Shireese: Do you have any celebrity aspirations?

Anthony: No, I’ve done my time on Survivor.
