Reality can be really hard to swallow sometimes -- especially if you're Richard Hatch.
The former Survivor winner and current Celebrity Apprentice contestant will be going back to jail for nine months for failing to pay taxes on his $1 million Survivor prize. Hatch served three years in prison for tax evasion and was released in 2009, but he still owes an estimated $2 million to the IRS. As a condition of his release, the reality star was told he needed to file his 2000 and 2001 tax returns and pay up, but it seems he never got around to doing so.
"This isn't a complicated matter as much as you tried to complicate it," Judge William E. Smith told Hatch on Friday. "As far as I can tell, you've made no effort to put any money into the government's coffers."
In addition to spending nine more months in the slammer, Judge Smith also ordered Hatch to serve 26 months of supervised release, during which the IRS will take 25 percent of his gross income.
Hopefully, after his additional jail time and a stint working for Donald Trump, Hatch has learned enough and will finally get his act together.
