You Asked, We Answered: Giving Growing Girls a Grown Up Bedroom

Susanna's Answer

How can you create a bedroom that solves the problem of siblings with different tastes? Keep it symmetrical, colorful, organized and let the accessories do the talking! Stay away from overt themes and instead find beds and bedding with sophisticated style that they can both agree on. Once you've matched your basics and maintained order, there's plenty of room for personal treasures that will keep identities distinct. These should be displayed in an organized, thoughtful fashion, however. Randomly sticking things to the walls will make the room feel chaotic.

In a bedroom, the beds will set the tone. Invest in two fabulous comforters with personality, leaving the sheets plain underneath. Your girls will be excited to graduate to a more grown up style that still feels playful.
