Expert review: The compact, eco-friendly Svan Anka high chair brings sleekness to the table without taking up a large footprint. It's like a gorgeous piece of furniture for the kitchen! When the sweet potato puree doesn't quite make it into baby's mouth and lands on the BPA- and phthalate-free tray cover, it can be easily wiped down. It's tricky to get the tray on and off one-handed since you have to press the release buttons simultaneously, but once it's off, you can run it through the dishwasher. Something else worth noting: The high chair is painted, so there is the possibility of the glossy finish starting to chip after a few months of regular use.
Why we love it: Cheap price; sleek, modern design; easy assembly; lightweight; stain-resistant; BPA- and phthalate-free tray; PBDE-free seat cushion.
What we wish it had: Easy-to-remove tray; a non-chip finish.
Great for: Parents with children 6- months to 5-years-old who want to save space (and money!) with a modern, eco-friendly chair.
Bottom line: The beautiful and affordable birch wood high chair isn't bulky and folds into a slim, compact size, making it perfect for even the tiniest of kitchens.
What our parent tester thought:
"The chair's lightweight, considering that it's made of beautiful solid wood, and quite easy to move around."
"You need to slide the tray on and off with two hands since it sticks a bit. It would be nice if the mechanism moved a little more smoothly."
"The chair looks great pulled next to the table. If you have the room, you can stash the tray somewhere and leave the chair at your table when you aren't using it to feed the baby."
