Wait…What?! That's right, a recent survey of Swedish moms finds one-third -- one-third! -- of parents in the Scandinavian country say they not only have sex while their infants are in the same room, but while they're in the same bed, according to the Huffington Post. Holy Ikea!
The survey, conducted by "Mama," a Swedish parenting magazine, also shows that almost half of Swedish mothers are doing the deed one or two times a week. Where do they get the energy?
In a separate survey, as the Huffington Post points out, almost 60 percent of American parents say they have had sex while a newborn was in the room -- but in the same bed? That'd be a big no, especially since even the idea of co-sleeping is so controversial in the United States.
We're sure some will say our shock at having sex next to the baby is just a sign of what prudes we are. After all, "Swedish children often co-sleep with both their parents until school age," the web site adds. But, really, for the love of ABBA, we can only hope kids that old aren't privy to their parents' lovemaking habits.
I think maybe we'll stick to sneaking a quickie in a private place.
