OFFICIAL RULES
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. MAKING A PURCHASE DOES NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. The Volvo Summer Sweepstakes (the "Sweepstakes") is jointly sponsored by iVillage Inc. ("iVillage"), 500 Seventh Avenue, 14th fl., New York, NY 10018 and Volvo Cars of North America, LLC ("Volvo"), One Premier Pace, Irvine, CA 92618 (iVillage and Volvo are referred to jointly herein as the "Sponsors"). The Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, who are 18 years of age or older at time of entry.
1. HOW TO ENTER: Beginning 11:00am Eastern Time ("ET") on June 1, 2004 through 11:00am ET on July 27, 2004 (the "Entry Period"), log on to www.parentsplace.com/safetycenter/sweepstakes/entry and follow the on-screen entry instructions or click on the Volvo Sweepstakes banner and follow the on-screen entry instructions. By entering, you certify that you are 18 years of age or older and otherwise eligible. Entries must be received by 11:00am ET on July 27, 2004. Limit one entry per email address/per person/per household per day for a maximum of fifty-seven (57) daily entries for the entire Entry Period. Normal time, toll, connection and usage rates, if any, charged by your Internet service provider will apply.
2. RANDOM DRAWING: Potential winner will be selected in a random drawing on or about August 4, 2004 from among all eligible entries received during the Entry Period. Random drawing will be conducted by iVillage whose decisions are final and binding with respect to all matters related to the Sweepstakes. Potential winner will be notified by email/mail. Odds of winning will depend upon the number of eligible entries received.
3. PRIZE: Subject to verification and compliance with these Official Rules, one (1) Grand Prize Winner will receive four (4) Specialized Rock Hopper Mountain bikes or two (2) Specialized Rock Hopper Mountain bikes and two (2) Hotrock 24 7 speed bikes; four (4) 2004 Specialized S1 helmets; one (1) 2004 Air Force pump; four (4) 2004 Rib Cage Pro water bottle attachments; four (4) Big Mouth water bottles; a $250 check towards a roof rack; one (1) Kelty Valhalla 5 tent and foot print; either four (4) Kelty Borealis sleeping bags or two (2) Kelty Borealis sleeping bags and two (2) North Face Tigger Kids sleeping bags; one (1) Century Matchless 2 burner stove; one (1) set of GSI Hard-Anodized No-Stick Extreme Cookware including both 1.5 quart and 1 quart pots with frypan lids, DiamondBack Gripper and mesh storage bag; one (1) 3'x3' fire blanket; one (1) Katadyn Camp water filter; one (1) Adventure Medical Backcountry Easy Care Kit; one (1) Adventure Thermo-Lite Adventure Heat Blanket; one (1) set of two Motorola TalkAbout T5950 AA Alkaline Two Way Radios with NOAA Weather Channels; one (1) Magellan SporTrak Pro GPS; one (1) 9oz. Bottle of Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen SPF 30+; and one (1) 5oz. Bottle of Blue Lizard Australian Face Sunscreen SPF 30. Total retail value of prize is approximately $4,990. No transfer, substitution or cash will be awarded in lieu of stated prizes except in Sponsors' sole discretion. Sponsors may replace prize with one of comparable or greater value, at their sole discretion. Limit one prize per person per email address per household.
4. GENERAL RULES: Open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, who are 18 years of age or older at time of entry. Employees of Volvo, iVillage, Inc., and their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, dealers, and their immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each, are not eligible to participate or win in the Volvo Sweepstakes. Void where prohibited by law. All federal, state and local laws apply. All entries become the sole property of the Sponsors and will not be acknowledged or returned. Potential winner may be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility/Release of Liability and, unless prohibited, a Publicity Release within 7 days of issuance. Noncompliance within this time period, with these Official Rules, or return of any prize/prize notification as undeliverable may result in disqualification and an alternate potential winner will be selected in a random drawing from the remaining eligible entries received. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission to the Sponsors and their designees to use winner's name, city, state, likeness, voice, biographical information and statements for purposes of advertising, promotion and publicity in any and all media, now or hereafter known, throughout the world in perpetuity without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law. By participating, entrant agrees to hold Sponsors, and their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, dealerships, and advertising and promotional agencies, and their respective directors, officers, employees and assigns (collectively, the "Released Parties"), harmless against any and all claims and liability arising out of or in connection with participation in this Sweepstakes or nonuse, misuse or use of prize. Entrant assumes all liability for any injury or damage caused, or claimed to be caused, by participation in this Sweepstakes or use or redemption of any prize. By entering this Sweepstakes, entrant waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental and consequential damages, attorney's fees or any damages other than actual out-of-pocket costs incurred to enter. By participating in this Sweepstakes, entrants agree to be bound by the Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsors and judges, which are final and binding on all matters relating to this Sweepstakes. Released Parties are not responsible for incomplete, lost, late, damaged, illegible, misdirected entries, for technical hardware, software malfunctions or failures of any kind, lost, unavailable network connections, or failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmission, which may limit a user's ability to participate. Sponsors reserve the right in their sole discretion, to cancel, suspend or modify the Sweepstakes (or any portion thereof), or to disqualify any implicated entrant(s), if any fraud, virus, actions by entrants, technical or other error or problem, or any other occurrence corrupts or affects the administration, integrity, security, or proper play of the Sweepstakes, as determined by Sponsors in their sole discretion. In the event of cancellation, Sponsors reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to award the prize a random drawing from among all eligible, non-suspect entries received up to the time of the event or action warranting such cancellation. In the event this Sweepstakes is cancelled prior to the stated end date, a notice will be posted at www.parentsplace.com/safetycenter/sweepstakes/entry. CAUTION: Any attempt by an entrant to deliberately damage any web site or undermine the legitimate operation of the Sweepstakes is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, Sponsors reserve the right to seek damages from any such entrant to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution. In the event of such a dispute or in the event a potential winner entered via internet and a dispute arises regarding specific individual entitled to receive prize, entries made by internet will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry and any damage made to the web site will also be the responsibility of the authorized account holder. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address. Released Parties are not responsible for any typographical, human or other error in the printing of the offer, administration of the Sweepstakes or in the announcement of the prize or for any liability for damage to any computer system resulting from participating in, or accessing or downloading information in connection with this Sweepstakes.
5. WINNER'S NAME: For the name of winner, available after August 31, 2004, send a self-addressed, stamped (#10) envelope to: Volvo Summer Sweepstakes Winner, 500 Seventh Avenue, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10018 to be received by October 31, 2004.
6. SPONSORS: iVillage Inc. ("iVillage") 500 Seventh Avenue, 14th floor, New York, NY 10018, and Volvo Cars of North America, LLC ("Volvo"), One Premier Pace, Irvine, CA 92618.
NO WARRANTIES: Sponsors make no warranties covering the prize furnished as part of this Sweepstakes.
GOVERNING LAW: This Sweepstakes and the rights and obligations of the Sponsors and participants will be governed by and controlled by the laws of the State of New York, applicable to contracts made and performed therein without reference to the applicable choice of law provisions. All actions, proceedings, or litigation relating hereto will be instituted and prosecuted solely within the State of New York, County of New York. The parties consent to the jurisdiction of the state courts of New York and federal court located with such state and county with respect to any action, dispute, or other matter pertaining to or arising out of this Sweepstakes.
PRIVACY: Winner's name and contact information will be shared by iVillage with Volvo in order to contact winner for the purpose of fulfillment of prizes. Information supplied by non-winning entrants will be shared by iVillage with Volvo for remarketing purposes only if the entrant has opted in to receive more information from specified Sponsor on the entry form by checking the box next to the corresponding copy.
