Take a Break: 31 Mommy-Time Ideas for Busy Moms

"When I do get a break, it usually isn't for a whole day, but rather a few cherished hours. My favorite way to spend that time is scrapbooking. I have a great group of friends who get together about once a month to work on our books. It's fun, relaxing, and rewarding to watch your work become something that will be cherished for years to come."

Woman-to-Woman
"A nice woman-to-woman chat allows me to vent, cry, laugh and relate to the goings on of another mom and caregiver."

"In order to recharge and gain some mental clarity, my friends and I instituted 'Mommies' Night Out' once a month. We meet for dinner, drinks, coffee, bowling, movies, etc. We try to limit the amount of time spent venting about the kids and 'husband bashing' so that we can either reminisce about fun times or talk about current events."

With a Little Help from Dad
"My husband took the kids so I could have the house to myself for a weekend. It was wonderful! I did some shopping and had take-out for dinner on Friday. Saturday I was out doing errands (unencumbered by kids or a deadline) and had some girlfriends over for dinner (take-out again!). On Sunday morning I got to read the entire paper and have a pot of coffee -- uninterrupted!"

"I do a mental escape every day for at least a half-hour. After my husband comes home and we have dinner, the boys are all his. He bathes them and puts them to bed."
