Tammy Baldwin

Political Party: Democrat

Race to Watch: U.S. Senate in Wisconsin

Family Life: Single

Resume: Since 1998 Tammy Baldwin has served in Congress as a member of the House of Representatives where she was the first female elected to Congress from the state of Wisconsin (and yes, that was ONLY 14 years ago!). She was also the first openly gay non-incumbent member of Congress. Since then, Baldwin has been a pioneer on many fronts, including being a sponsor of the controversial “Buffet Rule.” In November, she faces incumbent (and favorite) Tommy Thompson. Could Scott Walker’s recent victory spill over with a Thompson re-election, or could Baldwin change the course of history yet again?
