Although Taylor Swift is only 21, there's a lot to learn from the young starlet. After all, she has always been wise beyond her years -- I mean, we sing to the lyrics of "Fearless" and "Dear John" because we can relate to her trials and tribulations with love, life and heartbreak. This girl-next-door has a couple more lessons to give -- and this time, on the beauty and style front. (In fact, she recently added CoverGirl to her list of gigs.)
Jake Gyllenhaal gossip and millions-of-albums-sold aside, what we'd like to know is what's inside her makeup bag, and whether she prefers her hair straight or curly. Priorities, priorities!
What would we find inside your makeup bag? And, what won't we find?
An eyelash curler, CoverGirl LashBlast Mascara, black liquid eye liner, The Body Shop's Strawberry Body Butter, a light brown eyebrow pencil, CoverGirl Lipstain in Plum Pout...
I don't wear sticky lip gloss because my hair always somehow gets stuck on my mouth, and embarrassment ensues. (And, I NEVER wear lip gloss on stage -- [there's] too much head banging and hair flying for that.) I use CoverGirl's Natureluxe Gloss Balm in Sandstone instead.
Your skin is like porcelain. Tell us about your skincare regimen.
I like my skincare routine to be as quick and easy as possible, so I usually opt for cleansing face wipes to get my makeup off. Then, I wash my face with whatever random cleanser I have laying around. Moisturizer and night cream is an important step, too, so I try to use that every night.
We loved how you straightened your hair and showed off your cute bangs. Which do you prefer: your curls or your straight 'do?
I like the easiest option, so I like my hair curly better. Straightening my hair takes about the same amount of time, but somehow it's just easier to wear my hair how it is naturally.
What's your favorite trend at the moment?
I don't really know what trends are in style right now, but I know, right now, I'm loving antique jewelry (like charms and old keys). And, I'm always into dresses.
What's your go-to pair of shoes?
I love oxford shoes in unique colors. I have a pair of Cole Haan purple leather oxfords and red Fred Velvet Christian Louboutins that I love.
What inspires your style?
I'm inspired by retro styles throughout history. I love red lips and vintage hairstyles. I try to be pretty open-minded about fashion, but I always end up coming back to feminine things that usually sparkle.
