Taylor Swift is best known for her adorable bubbly nature, but we just learned she knows how to be manipulative (in an endearing way, of course) as well. The 22-year-old -- who is up for entertainer of the year at the Academy of Country Music Awards (or ACMs) -- has used the best weapon in her arsenal to convince fans to vote for her to win: her cat, Meredith!
The "Safe & Sound" singer posted a video to her Twitter account to make her fans aware that it's up to them to vote for her to win entertainer of the year. So how does the video accomplish this? By showing the songstress explaining the ACM voting system to her adorable meowing kitty. Watch it below!
"Hey Mer, so you're new here, so you don't really know this yet, but this is coming up on a very amazing thing that happens every year: the ACMs," Swift explains to her cat. "And, you know, you don't know how this goes, so I just thought I'd explain it to you."
When the kitten mews her assent, Swift goes on to explain that voting for the ACMs started March 19 and people can vote for the performer they deem is most worthy of the entertainer of the year title once a day up until the ACMs on April 1. (It's worth noting that Swift knows a thing or two about the award, as she won it in 2010.)
"So, do you think that people should go and vote for us, maybe?" Swift asks the cute little kitty.
Meredith's response is another "meow," which, according to the video, translates to, "Yeah!" Based on this video alone, we would have to agree.
In addition to entertainer of the year, Swift is nominated for female vocalist of the year and video of the year at the ACMs, which air April 1 on CBS at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Sadly for Meredith, she will not be Taylor's date to the event. The country-singing sweetheart will be taking Kevin McGuire, an 18-year-old fan who's battling cancer, as her plus-one. Just another reason to vote for Swift!
