The Kennedy family was on hand to honor Swift, 22, with the Ripple of Hope Award from the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice & Human Rights at a gala Monday night in New York City. Although Conor himself was absent, his father Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and aunts Rory Kennedy and Kerry Kennedy, as well as other Kennedy family members, were present. (Other celebrities in attendance included Alec Baldwin and wife Hilaria Thomas and RFK Jr.'s girlfriend, Suburgatory star Cheryl Hines.)
As for the pop-country star's date for the evening, it was definitely not a certain One Direction heartthrob she hung out with on Sunday; Harry Styles was busy performing with 1D at Madison Square Garden Monday night. Instead, Swift had her good friend, Glee alum Dianna Agron, by her side at the Marriott Marquis event in mid-town Manhattan.
In addition to accepting her award, Swift sang "Starlight," a song on her Red album in tribute to RFK's widow Ethel Kennedy. According to the RFK Center, the Ripple of Hope Award "lauds leaders of the international business, entertainment, and activist communities who demonstrate commitment to social change."
"I think she's fantastic and I couldn't be more thrilled," Rory Kennedy said of Taylor on Monday. "She's a good friend of our family and we all adore her and love her. It's great to have her around."
