Get excited, Taylor Swift fans! The pop-country superstar released the music video for her latest single, "22," on March 13. (Yes, she purposely chose the date because 13 is her favorite number.)
The light-hearted video features Swifty and her gal pals acting, well, 22. What it doesn't show is Taylor getting too close to any dudes. Of course, she's received a ton of flack lately for her lengthy dating history, so it's not surprising that she would choose now to release a video that's all about hanging out with the girls.
Because I'm a major Taylor fan (and I don't care who knows it), I've already watched the video about 37 times on repeat. And while it's certainly fun and catchy, it's not exactly original. So let's break down where Taylor may have gotten her inspiration from this time around...
1. Inspiration: *NSync
Taylor has the aggressive jumping from the "Bye Bye Bye" video down pat.
2. Inspiration: Britney Spears
She may have only been 10 years old when "Oops! I Did It Again" was released, but clearly it made a strong impression.
3. Inspiration: Friends with Benefits
Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis weren't the first people to ever chest bump...But, hey, any excuse to include a shirtless GIF of JT!
4. Inspiration: Clueless
Who doesn't remember Tai singing "Rolling with the Homies" after getting knocked out at a party?
5. Inspiration: Meet the Parents
Robert De Niro is only slightly more intimidating.
6. Inspiration: Almost Famous
Jumping into a swimming pool with all of your clothes on in the middle of a party? It's been done. (But at least Taylor stayed off the roof!)
7. Inspiration: Cats
Taylor is super cute. Cats are super cute. It makes sense.
