Sorry, Harry Styles -- Taylor Swift Says She's Never Had a "Great Love"

The singer has been connected to some of Hollywood's hottest men, but none have been the complete package for the star

Taylor Swift may have had a number of famous ex-boyfriends, but that doesn't mean she's figured out the love game!

In an interview with InStyle, the 23-year-old superstar admits that she has never experienced a "great love." "I think that you can love people without it being the great love," she explained.

Swift also confesses that she used to believe that love "came from a daydreamy, prince-and-princess place." But her idea of a fairy-tale happily-ever-after changed "when I actually experienced it," she says. "I realized it wasn't those things. It can be -- but not always."

Swift credits her friend, Ed Sheeran, for giving her a new perspective on what love truly is.

"He says there are different kinds of love: There's physical attraction, mental attraction, and emotional attraction; there's also comfort and obsession. You need to have all of those things in one person," she says. "You have to mentally respect them, be physically attracted, and have a comfort level. You're obsessed with them, yet you also know they're going to stay. I've never had that in one person."

Swift swears that her taste in men will be much better from now on; the singer acknowledges that many of her previous relationships were with men who had some mystery to them.

"My friends tease me about the fact that if someone seems bad or shady or like they have a secret, I find them incredibly interesting. That's just a phase I've been in lately," she says. "I don't think this should be how I proceed in life. It's important to be self-aware about these things because you don't want to end up with that guy."

And even though the star has been in relationships with several high-profile stars -- Jake Gyllenhaal, Harry Styles, Taylor Lautner and John Mayer included -- she admits that she does get jealous seeing others in good relationships. However, she's trying to change that.

"I feel jealousy, but I've been trying to channel it into mutual admiration and inspiration," she said. "If someone has a really great boyfriend or career, I think, it's cool that happens. Now I have proof it can happen. Maybe that's out there for me someday."

Could jealousy have been the reason why Swift tried so hard to have BFF Selena Gomez stay away from Justin Bieber? It certainly makes you wonder...
