This Parody Nails the Cliches Behind Every Tech Commercial

They're not selling us products, they're selling us a lifestyle

You know all those ads for phones, tablets, cameras and computers that pop up during every commercial break (and even when you're just trying to watch a video online)? They have a very unique way of getting their message across, right?

In this video, College Humor breaks down why those tech ads are so successful -- not at selling products, necessarily, but at promoting things like odd jobs and obscure indie bands. Take a look:

From diversity (or a lack thereof) to women laughing and talking in unison (because who isn't creepily in sync with their BFF?), this parody pretty much nailed it.

Looks like these big companies' "real people" models aren't very authentic to most people after all. Back to the drawing board, folks!
