It's a conversation that every parent dreads, and every parent needs to have. It's about sex. And the more open, honest, and engaging you are with your daughter, the better. In the end, you want her to get accurate information from you, before she gets it from her peers.
You can begin with the physical aspects of sex before moving on to the emotional part of it. Answer her questions openly and honestly, but be age appropriate in your responses. Use drawings to illustrate if you think that might help. And most of all remember, even though it may be embarrassing, you are arming your daughter with the information she needs to protect her body and her heart before she finds herself out in the world without a clue.
